Author-theologian who wrote "The Gospel According to Peanuts"
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Robert Short, the author and theologian who wrote "The Gospel According to Peanuts," died Monday. He was 76.
Short died in Little Rock, said the Little Rock Funeral Home. A cause of death was not immediately known.
The Presbyterian minister wrote "The Gospel According to Peanuts" with the blessing of the cartoon's creator, Charles Schulz. The book first was published in 1965.
The publisher, Westminster John Knox Press, said the book has been translated into 11 languages and sold more than 10 million copies.
Short wrote seven other books, including two others with Peanuts themes, "The Parables of Peanuts" and "Short Meditations on the Bible and Peanuts."
