Olympia "Lee" Perla, 87 FITCHBURG- Olympia "Lee" (Buratti) Perla, 87, of Fitchburg, died Friday morning, Nov. 20, in the Golden Living Center. She was born in Amandola, Italy, on Feb. 5, 1922, a daughter of the late, Biagio and Agnes (Mandozzi) Buratti. She came to Fitchburg at the age of 5 and had lived here all of her life attending Fitchburg schools and graduating from Fitchburg High School in 1939. Mrs. Perla worked in the assembly department at Foster Grant Corporation in Leominster for over 40 years prior to her retirement in 1987. She was a former member of St. Anthony de Padua Parish and in recent years she had attended the Crossroads Community Church. Her husband, Armedio Perla died in 1990. She leaves a son, Thomas J. Perla and his wife Robyn of Fitchburg; a daughter, Maria E. Colon and her husband Ernesto of Fitchburg; two brothers, Ralph Buratti and Louis Buratti both of Fitchburg; three sisters, Domenica Perla of Fitchburg, Mary Iacobone and Gloria Bieke both of Leominster; six grandchildren, Thomas J. Perla, Jr., Nicholas Perla, Salina Solis, Victoria Rhodes, Marcus Perla and Jessica Colon, six great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 11 AM in the Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 243 Water St. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Monday, Nov. 23, from 5 to 8 PM.
