Mack Elliott, of Springfield, died 19 November, 2009.
Mack was born on 17 August, 1947 at Woodbury, New Jersey to Kenneth Sr. and Teno Elliott.
As a devoted husband, loving father, beloved brother, cherished son, adored grandfather, retired Naval Officer, respected Freemason and DeMolay Advisor, learned firearms instructor, and staunch defender of the 2nd Amendment, Mack touched the lives of so many.
Mack grew up in Dallas making him a lifelong Cowboys fan. He Joined the Navy out of High School and demonstrated his courage and patriotism later attending college (at North Carolina State University) and being commissioned. He retired from the Navy in 1986 as a Lieutenant Commander. He was a tireless supporter of Freemasonry and the Masonic youth groups, DeMolay and Job's Daughters. He later became involved in the movement to defend the rights of Virginians to keep and bear arms.
He is survived by Kenneth, Sr. and Virginia Elliott; his wife (and best friend), Judy Elliott; two sisters, Linda O'Neil and Karen Elliott; four children, Kenneth M. "Tripp" Elliott, III & Kiersten Maryott (children of Helen Elliott), John & Mark Sturman (sons of Judy Elliott); five grandchildren, Todd, Bryan & Megan Sturman, and Chapin & Keller Maryott (with Kenneth M. Elliott, IV being due in late March); and a house full of cats and dogs.
Services will be conducted on Monday, 23 November at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home 1500 West Braddock Road, Alexandria with Viewings from 2-4 pm as well as 6-7 pm. There will be a religious service at 7:00 pm and a Masonic Service at 7:30 pm. All are welcome to attend.
A service will also be held on January 21st at Fort Myers to be followed by a graveside military burial at Arlington National Cemetary.

I am so sorry to hear of Macks passing. He was a wonderful person and i just learned of this today Dec. 29. Mack was my instructor for my NRA Instructor certification many years ago and we also attended Front Site together. A couple years ago Mack was my instructor again for my NRA Counselor certification. He was quite a great person and i will miss him. I met some of Macks family a few years ago for dinner also and they were all so nice. My thoughts and prayers go with the family.

I was truly sorry to hear of Mack's passing. Please accept my condolences. Mack and I met at Vitro Corporation some 20 years ago and have been friends since that time. He was a great guy, always upbeat and enthusiastic about the future. Mack, we never made that last dinner I owed you, and we'll catch up on that one. God rest his soul.

I am very sorry to hear about Mack. I am a 1965 graduate of Lake Highlands High School in Dallas. Mack and I were friends there as we knew each other for several years in the early 1960s. He attended our high school reunion in Dallas in September 2009. Not only was Mack Elliott there, but my friend Mack Elliott was there. Behind that rough-tough voice was my friend Mack. It may have been years, but it only seemed like days had passed since we last saw each other and we were able to visit a while. I was very happy to see him. Mack was independent, but anyone that wanted to be his friend, could be his friend. There is life after high school, but going back to a reunion allows us to visit without the pressures of high school or current business life. At our reunion, no one pulled rank and everyone was treated equally. I looked at our 1965 LHHS annual and Mack was a handsome fellow. To Mack’s family, I am truly sorry. To Mack, thank you for being there.

Mack was a great friend and supporter. At a time when VCDL led the push to enact firearms preemption, he and the brotherhood of VCDL doggedly pressed for a restoration of Virginians' rights under the 2nd Amendment. Mack succeeded and measurably improved the world. We will miss you buddy, and try to carry on where you left off. Many prayers for the family.

Tripp and family,
All of us who knew Mack from DeMolay and Freemasonry share our thoughts and prayers with you. If I didn't run in to him at a Masonic event I did at a gun show or NRA activity-he was everywhere! Your father spent many hours supporting organizations and teachings that he beleieved in. We wil all miss him.
