Karen M. King, 44, passed away on November 1, 2009. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel.
Beloved wife of Eric King, and loving mother of twins: Garrick Michael and Graydon James both of the home, daughter of Michael “ Mack “ Wayne Ayscue and the late Kathleen Hilton-Ayscue, and step-daughter of Joanne Ayscue. Karen is survived by many loving family members, and an enormous community of loving friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. She was also well respected in her professional life. Her devotion to her twin boys was unsurpassed.
Karen fought breast cancer with strength, unparalled courage, magnanimous strength and everlasting dignity, until her final breath, surrounded by all of whom she loved. Karen lived each day filled with passion and respect. Her ability to organize, communicate, and be direct was respected by all. She will forever be in our hearts and minds.

The summer before Karen moved to England was our summer. There was an old iron swing in my Grandmother's yard. WE sat and dreamed all the dreams young girls have. That summer was magical because I still remember it so well. WE ran the fields and got lost in the woods, played Treasure Island along the creek. Of course, we weren't supposed to be anywhere we went which made it all the more magical. Karen dreamed the dreams of most young girls. Her main one was to find Prince Charming and have a family. I think she realized that dream. I will miss her tremendously. But that magical summer still lives on in my memories.

We miss her dearly. Karen was always bubbly and loved to come over here for desserts after their dinner at her dads place on Thanksgiving day. I always made sure I had prepared watergate salad for her. We will miss her smile but we will never forget her.We have good memories of her,so she does still live on in our hearts. Want the family to know we are here if they need us. Keep in touch with the family. God Bless!! Love, Auntie Bernice & Uncle Gary Lee

Eric, we have just heard about Karen's death and are so saddened. I know when I saw her a few weeks ago, she was fighting the good fight as she has for the past couple of years. Her courage, her strength and her love for you and the boys kept her motivated through this journey. She was such an inspiration to so many with her larger than life smile and her determination. Even though she was loved so much by those of us who knew her and were blessed to have been touched by her life, God needed her more and has taken her into his loving embrace where she is now free of the cancer and the pain. We pray that you Eric, Graydon & Garrick will find the strength within you that was a part of Karen and your wonderful memories that she has left with you to carry on as she would want you to do. Remember that her love and support will forever be in your hearts and she will always be watching over you. She will be missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have been touched by her wonderful spirit.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

You're lives have been enriched by having such a wonderfully brave example that your wife and Mom, has set for you. She lives on as you will. She will touch your cheek or whisper in your ear, so watch for it! This will let you know she lives, and is really happy with the angels. She is blessing you every day.
