Dear Jan, I only just met you right after you came back from Joan's passing. Your love for your sister touched my heart. I know we met under the most ridiculous circumstances, but I will never forget that love and I will be praying for your peace. You inspried me to keep in touch with my sister more often. Thank you for your kindness; meeting you, I cannot imagine how wonderful the rest of your family must be!
God Bless you and your entire family. May Joan's soul rest in peace. Love, Jayne Slaton

Dear Mario, Annmarie, Lisa and Julianna,
We were shocked and saddened to hear of dear Joanie's passing when we saw the paper tonight. She was a wonderful woman and one of the neighbors we missed the most when we moved. She had the greatest sense of humor and no matter what kind of mood you were in, you never left her without laughing. I keep thinking of all you girls being little and how much your Mom loved you and how proud she was of her family. I'm sure she's looking down from Heaven just as proud. Again, we're so sorry for your terrible loss. If there's anything we can do, please don't hesitate to call.
Much love,
Margaret-Rose, Paul and family (Principato)

joanie, there are too many memories to share. you have been such a huge part of my life since the day i was born. you are my aunt, my godmother, my friend. aside from my own mother, i have never loved another woman as much as i love you. you have always been there for me, even after you had a family of your own. i will miss absolutely everything about you. thank you for all that you have done for me. i hope you know i loved you more than words can say. you were there on the best and the worst days of my life , and you could never be replaced. you were not only the best aunt, but the best mother, wife, sister, daughter , friend, santa stand-in, natural birth partner, fellow text twist addict, scrabble champion, crochet teacher, etc. thank you for being my mother's best friend. you have, and always will, be in my heart and mind forever. there will never be anyone like you again. if a little kindness goes a long way as they say, you could orbit the solar system 100 times over. you always made everyone feel comfortable in your home and your heart. you were never in awe of anyone you were with, nor did you ever make anyone feel that they were less of a person than you were, although you could have. i never met a person with a bigger heart, more patience, or generosity than you. and yes, you were a wonderful cook. your friends and family will always be the luckiest people in the world.. i love you so much, kathy

Lisa and family,
I'm so sorry to hear of this news! My sincerest condolences go out to you and your family for your loss. I know we hardly know each other but I truly understand your grief as I lost my mom on Thanksgiving 3 years ago. Stay strong and keep all the memories close at heart.
Sincerely,

I am so saddened by the news of Joanies passing. She gave me one of the most wonderful memories ever. The girls trip to Costa Rica in 2001. We had only met a couple of times before the trip and within a day, I felt as if I'd known her forever. I experienced her incredible sense of humor, her compassion, her generosity and her ability to connect with everyone. She was a beautiful soul and SO VERY many people will miss her.
