I am so sorry to learn of Mrs. Crowe's passing. She was a loyal reader of the Irish Echo Newspaper and I'm sorry we never got the chance to do a story on this remarkable woman.
Your family is in my prayers. Madeline O'Boyle Subscription Manager

I will always treasure the sincere and warm welcome that my family received whenever we were fortunate enough to be hosted by Mrs. Crowe at the Members Dining Room. My deepest condolences go to my former colleague and dear friend Kathleen and to the rest of the family.

It was only yesterday that I found out Sally had passed away. I met Sally in 1974 because of my aunt, Gertrude Wolf, who worked on Capitol Hill for 40 years and used to have breakfast every morning in the House Dining Room. My aunt adored Sally, and Sally was crazy about my aunt. They were both the same age and loved working on Capitol Hill. Sally was filled w/ joy and laughter. She always had a kind word for me, and she always found a seat in the House Dining Room for my brother, Mark Levin, and me. Sally, I'll always remember your lovely Irish brogue, red hair and fabulous skin. I hope you and Patrick are together again, and maybe you're even enjoying reminiscing about the Hill w/ President Kennedy, Senator Kennedy, and Speaker of the House O'Neill. Love, Alyn

Sally's memory for names was phenomenal. She remembered me in 2007 even though I had not worked on the Hill for over twenty years. She always made you feel welcome and cared for.

Dear Judy, Veronica, and Kathy:
My heartfelt sympathy to all of you. Sally was an Angel here on earth, so there is no doubt that she is in heaven now. You have suffered a tremendous loss, but I know your memories will overshadow the loss as you recall are all the good and joyous times you had with your mom. She had a nice long life, but it is never enough for the precious children and grandchildren she has left behind.
Judy, I left you a phone message. Do call me when you have time (202) 529-4598. I am so proud of Fiona. Tiffany graduated last year or rather the school got rid of her in the nicest way they could.
Again, my prayers are with you all. Sally was truly a gem and I will never forget her kindness and generosity to me and my children during my Hill time. I am sure she will me missed by all of those who ate at the House Restaurant. She was the best they ever had there.
All my Love,
Maxine

God Bless you and your family in your time of grief. I got to know"Miss Sally" fondly for the last 11/2 years as the General Manager of the food operation at House of Representatives. I will never forget her introducing me to the many Congressmen and Congresswomen and how she impacted their lives on such a personal basis. My introduction to the Speaker, Ms Pilousi was a priceless moment as she grabbed my wrist with her powerfull grip and took me over to interrupt graciously the Speakers lunch with her husband. Sally will be personally missed by me and many who she worked with for her smile, witt and charm as well as candidness. She will always have a special place in my heart

I'm sorry to hear about your mother's passing, Kathleen. You've spoken of her often. Still working at 92?! I hope I'm so blessed. I read the tribute letter about her on Politico.com. Very nice.
