I was looking at some momentos when I came across a Christmas Card from Carl and Eileen Bates. I knew them both while I lived and attended church in Alexandria VA. He was the kindest man I have ever met. I worked briefly as the Pastor's secretary and Carl always came up after the men's Friday AM bible study to give me a hug. I am so sorry to learn of his loss. Please know that I think of him often and will never forget his smile and kindness to me.

Our family in St. Augustine came to know and call him Uncle Carl when he married our Aunt Eileen. We have today become aware of his passing and want to express our sincere condolences to all his family. Uncle Carl always spoke good of everyone no matter what. He was a loving person who always had a hug and smile for all of us. We can all take comfort in his faith and know he is now with our Lord and family and friends who have gone before. God's prayers and blessings to everyone. Uncle Carl, I and my Florida family will truly miss you.

For my Dad, There really aren't enough words to express my love for my Dad. He was a wonderful man who I was fortunate enough to call my father. Although I haven't been able to see him in several years, we called each other often. I always loved our phone conversations, they were the high light of my week. There is now a hole in my heart knowing I will never hear his dear voice again. So many of us will miss him, but I am glad he is no longer suffering and is now with rejoicing with his family and friends in Heaven. With so much love, Debbie
